INTRODUCTION TO TRADITIONAL STORYTELLING
Friday 12th September 10am-1pm
£20/person.
Saturday 4th October 10am-1pm
£20/person.
With Storyteller Becca, come and learn some of the principles of traditional storytelling, find your storytelling voice, and build your confidence to share a story with an audience.
- Introduction to traditional stories and folklore, and the history of storytelling.
- Hear Becca tell an old story of Northumberland.
- Learn and practice tools and techniques for oral storytelling.
- Have a go at telling your own story (traditional or otherwise).
Please bring a story you’d like to have a go at telling – this can be a traditional tale or fairytale, a personal story, a story you’ve made up yourself, or anything else.
Suitable for anyone who wants to be able to tell a story, whether as part of your professional life or personal. While the focus is on traditional stories in the workshop, the tools you take away will be valuable in any setting. You will, however, be encouraged to put any book or text down and tell straight from yourself.
Tea, coffee and biscuits provided, but please feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks if you prefer. Let me know in advance if you have any dietary requirements or access needs. The Bryneich Studio is wheelchair accessible.
